    Are all index tracking (S&P 500 in my case) ETFs equal?

    I want to buy ETFs tracking the S&P 500, 400, and 600 and I've discovered multiple offerings (SPY and IVV and maybe others for the 500) of what in my mind, should be the same product.

    Are the only differences in ETF that cover the same indexes the expense ratios charged by the bank issueing and the volume that each trades or are there other differences as well?

    Are there any sites that ranks ETFs that cover the same indexes?

    Instead of buying SPY, I usually go with SSO which is almost 2x the moving of S&P 500.  Sorry for not answering your question since I don't track SPY and IVV.  Of course, SDS is the opposite of SSO (if you want to short the S&P 500).
