    Shocked about the us dollar

    Reply Quote
I know the currency is becoming deluted but i never thought it would get this bad! How bad you ask? Canada has a stronger currency now! Canada used to have currency that was approximately .7 USD for every CAD. I just purchased a computer from canada and i had to pay nearly 1.6% MORE in USD compared to the cad price... this is SAD!

shocked huh? not to trying to be a dick or anything....but you are the one from the other thread talking about how you are not going to be voting for Obama because of higher taxes. So go ahead, try to keep the republicans in the office, so we can keep fighting a useless war in the middle east, keep getting deeper into debt, and keep devaluing the Dollar for another 4+ years.

Obama wants to raise taxes to 45%. Capital gains and normal paychecks. I live in Tn where the sales tax is 10%. I'm not voting for anyone who wants me to pay 50-60% taxes. They don't give a crap, they have millions. What thousands I have, I'd prefer to keep. The government gets plenty of tax dollars. I can't help it our government and our congress are idiots. Being that we're a capitalist society I can't see any justification for 40-50% tax rate. Crazy. I'd move to Europe if I wanted to pay those high taxes.

lol... not to be a dicck myself but democrats want to redistribute wealth... im sorry for all of you that have  bad jobs but unless im worth 100 million i dont believe i should be FORCED to give hand outs. obama wants to do just that you know? AND i dont see why youre even on here! you cant recognize that his policy is bad for the stock market.. MOST PEOPLE INVEST FOR RETIREMENT!!! stocks have risk and the money you eanr from taking that risk SHOULD NOT BE HIGHLY TAXED!!! it is my money and I believe the government isnt entitled to more than its fair share. the war may have started under false pretenses but we are damned if we continue and damned if we stop so both sides of the argument there are right and wrong.

in regards to the rate cuts durinbg a moderate to severe recession clint regardless of if its a republican or democrat in office thy would have done essentially the same thing.

Get long Canada! I'm serious. Buy the Canadian dollar, Canadian stock exchange, Canadian banks. I own some of Fidelity's Canada mutual fund and it's performed very well in the past 6 months.

You have a reference for this?  Obama wants to let Bush tax cuts expire, and raise taxes for people making over $250,000: http://taxprof.typepad.com/

Anyway, the person who originated this thread was complaining about the weak dollar.  Nothing devalues a currency like deficit spending, and nothing deficit spends like a war.  You could feed and clothe the entire country for what we've spent on Bush's wars, with enough money left over to bail out a couple banks. I'm not advocating deficit spending for social services (which is what Democrats usually do) but the sheer amount of money pales in comparison to war spending, which is what Republicans do.  I don't understand how Republicans claim to be fiscal conservatives, with taglines such as "Deficits don't matter"

No matter what party you belong to, whether you want to stay in Iraq for -5 or +100 years, deficit spending creates more money/credit, which devalues the currency.  And there is nothing more expensive than a war.

Just one question, how much are you currently being taxed? I am just guessing that its near 35%. France is 40% tax rate. And for the tax rate French people have much more benefits then americans will ever see from their government.
Basically u are paying socialist country tax rates.

You want to whine about a war.... reality check: we are in it mccain or obama has to figure out how to deal with it. stop whining about it and start thinking whose better for the job of ending this thing properly! i do not think that screwing over investors is exactly what americans need right now. cut it out with your hippie bs. you supposively are involved in the stock market otherwise you wouldnt be on this forum correct? how is obama raising capital gains going to help you? do you want to vote for obama because he wants to play robin hood? do you want to vote for him for a stupid reason lke because hes black? news flash: he is just a smooth talker. hell hes even severely weakened his "bring 'em home" stance to "lets play it by ear".... isnt that mccains stance?.. you are IGNORANT

We're sending 5-10x more money over to the middle east for oil every year then the entire cost of the iraqi war. i wouldn't blame the war. The war actually helps a lot of companies....
